Nourishing My Soul
Out early again. Pre-dawn light along an Eastern Sierra Mountain Lake in California.
This is technically not a very good photograph (my exposure was to long) resulting in slightly elongated and blurry stars. I should have made at least two separate exposures and merged them in Photoshop; one quick exposure for the stars and one longer exposure in order to smooth out the lake water (which is what I did here.)
I do like the story this tells; being up and out early on a rather crisp, cold (17° F) and clear morning. A sky filled with sparkling stars and the towering mountains in the background neatly accented with fresh autumn snow glowing softly by the tender light of the early morning moon had me reaching for my 70mm-200mm lens.
What a great start to my day!
