At Rest

A calm morning with light gray skies filled the air with just the right amount of peacefulness and a pinch of laziness.

This American Avocet seemed so content relaxing in the shallows of the lower pond at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary. It took me several attempts to get a frame with its eye open. Once I got a couple, I quietly walked away.
